the everything pot.
Date:May 24, 2012
I have had this pot set for 6 months so far, and it is amazing. With the pasta insert (great for pasta, corn and potatoes) and the steamer insert, I use this 95% of the time I cook a meal, and I love them -- the pasta and steamer inserts are well sized and extremely convenient, and the pot itself can fit enough food for a couple days but can just as easily be used for a much smaller meal. Much different than other (stainless) pots I've used, these distribute heat much more evenly and even speed up cooking time, eliminate burning and sticking, and allow for 30-second cleanup!!
Two more things to keep in mind: 1. the handle on the lid (and the lid itself) become hot quickly, and the handles on the pot will heat if on the stove long enough 2. to any of the naysayers who think that nonstick will chip away or deteriorate, mine is in perfect condition after 6 months+ of near-constant use; just treat it well and it will last!
BOTTOM LINE: If you cook anything outside a frying pan and eat pasta or vegetables from time to time (who doesn't?), then this set is invaluable.

Favorite pot for making soup

Made soup in this pot the day after it arrived -- turned out wonderfully. I will make chili in this pot next and expect for it to be just as wonderful. Found the cleanup to be very easy.

The pot is great for boiling starchy foods, like all types of potatoes and beans. Using the insert makes for easy pasta draining, though, you still have to take the whole pot over the sink.

Great multi-functional pot

This pot is so great we practically never put it away. Great for boiling pasta, and it's so easy to just lift the basket out rather than have to lift the heavy pot and pour that pasta and water through a strainer. And the steamer works great too--an easy and healthy way to cook vegetables. The glass lid makes it easy to keep on eye on your food without letting the steam out.
