Some of the user on her have been very nagative about this Grill. But over all most have been very postive
This pan is everything Caphalon said and more.
*Preheat on med high.
I did and it turned out just like the ones they cooked. I sat down and enjoyed some of the best pork chop I ever cooked.

Love the Unison Non Stick but cant help but thinking I'm doing something wrong with the grill pan. Everything sticks... Salmon, the skin comes off, hamburgers leave parts of the meat stuck to the pan.... same results for chicken. Clean up is messy due to the food that is stuck to the bottom of the pan. i don't use any Pam or any other oil, as i was told that i didn't need it.
PLEASE HELP ME SOMEONE.... I've seen pictures from others and their food seems to be cooking perfectly with nice grill lines etc.
Are people cooking on very low heat or are they using oil?????

This pan has added an entire branch of cooking that heretofore was not in my repertoire.....inside grilling? Not so much. Tried various grill pans and either the sear wasn't up to par or, in the case of my highly prized cast iron, seasoning the pan meant working thru a period of janky cleanups...ugh! And, of course, no true grilled sear of delicate fish, fruit or veg. Now, howsumever, all of that and more are possible......not only burgers, chops and steaks, but now I grill fresh fruit like pineapple or peaches ( try fruit with fresh, savory herbs like basil ), the fresh purple asparagus in farmer's markets here, and even baby root veggies with basalmic glaze.....so good! Don't waste time and money on any other grill pan.......this is the real deal!

My sister gave me this pan for a Christmas gift and I love it! It was easy to use and easy to clean. My grilled chicken turned out awesome and it was so juicy!!!!

I wasn't convinced when we received this pan as a gift for our wedding but my husband really liked it. So we have used now a few times and we live it! Great for grillin chicken breasts and bread or sandwiches!

I love this pan for hamburgers, cubed steak, pork chops. It's ok with chicken breasts. The breasts are thicker and by the time they cook, the outside is a little crispy.

I have owned this pan for about a year and use it for grilling chicken breasts, hamburger patties, and steaks. Make sure your meat is completely thawed and at room temperature for the best taste

Have used this for many months, LOVE it, recently bought the splatter guard and now I'm a grilling machine! The sides on this grill are low so I really needed a splatter guard for steaks, sausage and hot links. Clean up is AMAZINGLY easy. No more outside grilling for us!

I really like cooking with this grilling pan. I have an electric stove that produces very repeatable temperatures. This lets me easily use the grilling pan to produce tender grilled food that are finished to perfection.
What I don't like is cleanup. This is the only coated pan that I've ever had that is so hard to clean. I don't get what I'm doing wrong and came back to this site to see if there were any hints. I either heard "cleans up great" or "hard to clean" but nothing indicating why people got such varied results. (I'm pretty sure I seasoned this pan per instructions.)
The worst part is that once food is stuck, you're stuck. (And maybe that's my problem.) You see, the surface will be ruined once you use an abrasive cleaning pad on it. So if you burn anything onto the pan, you're stuck trying to get it off with a soft dish cloth. You can soak it for days and never get it clean. I wish I had purchased this as a stainless steel pan. Then I could use an abrasive pad to clean it.

... Calphalon Unison Nonstick 12-in. Round Grill Pan is fabulous - rubbed steak w/olive oil and put none in pan - great grill marks and it didn't stick! Cleanup a breeze - it is dishwasher safe but was so easy to clean, I did it by hand. Unfortunately, it was a friend's pan and not mine = pan envy!

I've owned the Professional Hard Anodized grill pan for a number of years & always hated cleaning it. My new Unison grill pan is a breeze to clean as even burned on barbeque & soy based sauces come right off.

I use this grill pan at least once a week- its so handy and the results are amazing. For those times i dont want to go out to the community grill or when the weather is bad i can still get perfectly seared food and easy clean up. I even take this pan on vacations ( when driving) because its so versatile. A must have!

Being a big griller, I was a little leary as to "grilling" indoors...but this pan is great. We've used it a few times now and everything has turned out great. Steak one night (*that* I was really hesitant about), fish another.
The pan sears in the flavor and juices very nicely and cleans up like a dream. I can see this pan getting a work out even in the summer on those rainy days!

It's important to heat the pan to the correct temp in order the get a nice sear but I love that the pan can also go right into the oven to finish off the dish.
I've cooked salmon, prok chops, rib eye steaks, grilled asparagus and fajitas, peppers, onions and even shrimp. Most of the time I use olive oil on the food I'm about to cook rather than oiling the grill pan. So far so good.
I decided to also try this pan to make fried chicken and on another day fried catfish sticks. The ridges in the pan were great for keeping the frying oil hot and even and kept the foods from soaking in oil. I'd never fried chicken before but everyone in the family loved the dish - tender, crisp and didn't taste greasy. Even the catfish sticks were great since the grooves kept the fish from laying on the bottom of the pan and getting too brown. I'll still use this pan for grilling and pan frying but what another 1" on the edge would do!
Truly a multi-purpose pan.

I recently received the grill pan and tried it on hamburgers. It made great sear marks and still cooked the food well. I love that highly carmelized flavor of a well-seared burger. I can't wait to try it for other meals, too.

I made grilled salmon as it's the only fish my kids will eat. It was great, worked perfectly, fish did not stick or fall apart and amazing sear. I love it. I also love that I was able to just pop the pan in the oven because of the handles. Fish was warm when hubby made it home. He thought I grilled it outside. Will be grilling a lot more.

I'm a griller. I grill all year in almost all kinds of weather. I typically use my Grill Pan at breakfast for sausage and such along with my slide pan (heavenly), but I've been using it pretty much daily since my deck is under renovation. Bacon wrapped filet, sausage and peppers, pork chops and marinated chicken breast. Perfect sear lines and with the size of the pan I can cook everyones dinner at once. Normally I wouldn't dream of putting a glaze in a pan since I'm a busy mom of 4 and I just don't have the energy to soak and scrub (that's why I always grill), but clean up is a breeze. They say dishwasher safe, but I just wash by hand it's easy enough. We've been upgrading all of our cookware and really testing and researching and I definitely think this is the set for us.

I have used my round grill pan on numerous occasions. Everytime I do I am so pleased with it. I have used it for cooking various meats (Chicken and beef the most). It always cooks everything evenly and quickly without leaving it dry.

I did not like this pan at all! The description said it would "add authentic grill flavor", I found this was not the case. I made chicken breast and beef in this pan and I don't think it "grilled" well . I should have just fired up the grill outside or used the broiler in the oven and I believe I would have received better results.
The pan is sturdy and well made. It washes up well so if you do use it you know it will be easy to clean!

I have never used a grill pan before so my comparison is with the outdoor grill (not always so convenient to use in rainy Seattle). I have used this for halibut, asparagus, buffalo burgers and more and am always thrilled with the results. The surface has a grainy texture that kind of "grabs" the food and it makes the great grill marks. Easy cleanup although it did required a little sponge scrubbing due to the texture. The 12" surface is big enough for 4-6 servings and the pan has a shallow edge - just enough to catch all the juices. I actually haven't grilled out since I got this pan! Love it and recommend it.

Great job on pork chops, beef burgers, turkey burgers.
The best use I've found so far is to use it as a kind of shallow roasting pan, for butterflied cornish hen, slathered in olive oil & rosemary, seared on the stovetop, and then finished in the oven with a half lemon.
Cleans up easily with a plastic scrub brush.
The pan itself is rather lightweight so it doesn't retain heat like a cast iron pan, however, it's very easy to carry despite it's size. Warning: the handle is long and the pan takes up the entire oven rack.

I love this pan! One of my family's favorite meal is maple salmon. Now cooking this meal is easy. I can basically cook this using any pan. However, the nightmare is in the cleanup. Have you ever spent hours scouring maple syrup/sugar crust from a pan? I have <groan>.
Tongiht I made my maple salmon for my family. As usual, the sugars crusted, leaving the pan blackened. Here was the test - the cleanup. I was amazed! The crusted sugars lifted out, I soaked the pan for a few minutes which I probaly did not have to do, and then washed it. I only used a sponge- NO scouring was needed!! And the pan looks as great as it did when I unpacked it!
I have spent the last 20+ years using cheap pans (Walmart specials). Never have I been so excited to exprience cooking and cleaning a pan such as this!
The good news for my family - more special recipies! I no longer have to find excuses for not cooking for fear of spending hours scrubbing pans.

We grill a lot of food on our BBQ outside, but since we got this pan we haven't had to brave the outdoors (and deal with cleaning the grill). This pan has a great heft to it, allowing us to cook at high heat. We love the size of it and of course, it being nonstick. I also love the grill marks it leaves on the meat, while locking in those essential juices. Another pan that is extremely easy to clean-up... highly recommended!

This is a great griddle - I especially like that the edges are deep enough to use it as a shallow fryer! I was able to make sweet potatoe fries in it the other day and they were delicious!

Ok so this pan knows how to get the job done. I made a quesadilla for lunch and the crispy lines that got cooked into it were amazing. I will never use another pan again (except for breakfast).

I have had several grill pans, but none that made perfect grill marks and cleaned up as easily as this one! The size is great as well. Much better for my electic stovetop than the cast iron grill pans that cover two burners.

The grill pan is great for cooking burgers inside on cold days or rainy days. The burgers (hamburger and turkey) do not stick to the pan, you can fit 6-7 good sized burgers in it. It cleans up nicely and is easy to handle.

I LOVE the Unison Nonstick 12" Round Grill Pan! I have tried many other grill pans before and always have some pieces of whatever I was cooking stuck to the pan, no matter how much oil I use. It heated evenly through and was able to keep my salmon steaks from sticking with little to no oil.
I also used it on a raining night when we planned to grill a skirt steak outside. It turned out great. It was extra juicy and the pan was even big enough that I didn't have to cut the steak in half, like my other pan.

This pan is awesome. I made grilled cheese sandwiches and the cheese never stuck to the pan. Then I was preparing a roast for the oven and decided to try this pan to brown the edges my roast. Oh my, it brown perfectly and the added bonus of having the grill lines added eye appeal to my dish. I love this pan, it has made me want to get back into the kitchen again.

Today I used my new grill pan to make a fresh mozzarella and proscuitto panini. The sandwich browned evenly and developed nice grill marks without any hot spots. Cleanup was easy...even where the cheese had melted onto the pan!
Can I put this pan in the oven? It would be nice to sear a steak or chicken breast and then pop it into the oven to finish cooking?

We were not sure how much we'd like this pan since our previous experiences with grill pans have been pretty bad with previous pans where the divots are too deeps and things just do not cook evenly or at all. And cleaning. . . that was a whole another pain. I do have to say that this pan is a whole different breed of grill pans. We've cooked fish, sausage, hamburgers, grilled cheese on it all with easy success. I've never had sausage cook so evenly and easily on an indoor grill pan. Seriously, just turned them and they were perfect. This pan really does make some delicious grilled cheese, too. It even does the silly little lines that we all love :) It's a piece of cake to clean this pan too, and I love how quickly the calphalon unison cools after the heat source is shut off.

This is an awesome grill pan. As a test I used it to make some specialty hamburgers (with bacon and cheese mixed right into the patty - yum) and they came out gloriously tasty and pretty.
The fat dripped down into the spaces between the ridges and the ridges themselves made a perfect criss-cross pattern on the burgers. The pan heated quickly and evenly - and it was super easy to clean. I will definitely be using it on meals to come.

I got my grill pan on Saturday and of course had to try it out right away. I made a rib eye steak for dinner and boy am I impressed! Other non-stick grill pans could not be heated enough to sear the meat, but the Calpahlon grill is great! I had those sought after grill marks on both sides of my steak and it was cooked to perfection - not steamed as with other pans. Love it! I will be saving to get more Calpaholon and adding it to my holiday wishlists for sure!

I used the grill pan for the first time this week and was surprised at how good the results were.
I made lamb burgers, and usually my complaint with non stick is I don't get the same browning as with my cast iron. That was not a problem with this grill pan. It was big enough for two large burgers plus room for heating buns at the same time.
Great browining, simple as pie clean up! So glad I have this pan in my cabinet.

I was a little worried that this lightweight pan would be too thin to sear meat well, but so far it has been great. I have grilled bread for garlic bread and gotten wonderful crsip rounds. I have seared vegetables for a quick side. And meats grill up really well-so far I have tried sausage, cooking chicken and reheating ribs and all have turned out really well.
The non-stick coating has not chipped or scratched and has been truly "non-stick". And being able to drop it in the dishwasher--although it is a tight fit--is a huge plus.

I've been quite pleased with my new Calphalon Unison Nonstick 12" Round Grill Pan. Its a great alternative to grilling on the outdoor gas grill when time is tight or weather less than perfect for cooking outdoors. And the handles stay cool!
The pan saved dinner one evening when the new propane tank was rusted shut. I was easily able to prepare fresh chicken fajitas in one pan.
Clean up is very easy, but I keep forgetting I can toss these pans into the dishwasher...old habits die hard ;)

The Round Grill Pan is Great! Have been using it for everything but have found it's particularily great for panini's. Highly recommend!

Cooking with my new Grill Pan results in having our meal ready at least 30 minutes earlier, allowing us to spend more time @ the dinner table talking about our day. Flavors like lemon and herbs are also more enphasized!

I used this to grill fish for fish tacos. Worked great and since it was non-stick, it was easy to clean! I hand-washed the grill pan but I love the fact that it can be put in the dishwasher if needed.

I really like this grill! My favorite part is that it's not too small do make dinner for 4 hungry boys!!! It's not as easy to clean as I would have like, but then nothing really is! This pan gave my pork chops a nice brown crispy grill line even though I was afraid I had croweded the pan. Delivers beautifully on all its promises!

I have never owned a pan with grids in them but this is awesome. Most of the grease just slides on down to the bottom of the pan off your food which is essentially what you want! So easy to cook with and makes the whole experience just that much better!

I like the new Sear surface and the way it leaves lines on the chicken breasts I cooked. They browned nicely. I only cooked three, but there was room for more. This pan did not come very clean in the dishwasher, I had to wipe the inside out after the washer finished. I think it would have cleaned easily by hand but thought I should test out the "dishwasher safe" claim.

I made bacon in it for the first time. What's great about it is that i could actually stretch out my bacon and it fit in the pan well!! It browned it up nicely, just like i hoped. I love the size and how easy it was to clean. I'm loving Calphalon products!!

I have always struggled with cooking pork chops. They always end up dry as I try to get the outside cooked. I used this pan the other night and my pork chops came out perfect. This pan is amazing!!

Maybe I've been doing something wrong for the last decade +, but each of the 4 grill pans (all Calphalon) I've owned over the years haven't done a whole lot more than adding the pretty lines to the food. And sometimes they're not even that pretty. I haven't noticed an improvement in the taste or internal texture of meats/chicken/fish I've cooked in any grill pan. Often times with past pans, I get beautiful stripes on beef, chicken and fish, but then by the time the inside is done, the stripes have turned black. This particular pan is no exception. I like my grilled veggies to have some firmness (meaning slightly undercooked in the center) but for meats? No thanks! Rare is one thing in a steak but raw is another. And chicken or pork? Fuggedaboudit. No matter how I experiment with the temperatures, it’s just never quite right. Like I said, maybe it’s just me. The one exception is salmon for my self, which I enjoy seared and slightly undercooked anyway. Down side is I can’t feed it to my kids this way so by the time the internal temp is safe for them, the outside is history.
Even though it’s non-stick, I often find it difficult to get it sparkling clean. I think I’ve cleaned it thoroughly, then later notice a perfectly straight fine line of cooked on char along where the raised grill part and the valley (?) of the pan meet. Sometimes I don’t notice until I’m wiping it down with a clean dish towel and I’m about to use it. Much like a cavity in a tooth, I wonder if the not-seen-by-the-naked-eye-stowaway-cooked-in-sauce shortens the lifespan of these pans in general. The jury is still out on how long this one will last since I just got it, but if the past is any indication, it won’t be long particularly since the bottom of this pan is also very thin. As much as I want to be, I'm just not wowed yet. I’ll keep trying.
