This product exceeds all expectations for a wafflemaker. I have used commercial and many home waffle makers and none came lose to the performance of the Calphalon Waffle Maker. I use King Flour Pancake and Waffle Mix and double the amount of butter for waffles, as recommended. Medium setting produces multiple crisp waffles all morning long. Highly recommended!

The timer went off the waffles weren't done and when I reset it the timer never went off again. Even when I unplugged it and plugged it in again. I will get another one in case it was a bad one. Hard to believe with all the good reviews. I love the size of the waffle maker.

It really is non-stick. You can make 1 - 4 belgian squares and they come out perfectly.
The no peek is true and the lighted dial is neat too.
Clean up is super easy. I only wish it came with a non-stick fork or tongs to retrieve the waffles.

This is the best waffle maker I have owned, and I've owned quite a few in my 75+ year life. Being a vegan, I used almond milk in my batter and the results were amazing. I froze the leftover waffles and when I toasted them for a snack, they were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. I can't say enough good things about the waffle maker. It is worth every penny.

From the very first time I used this waffle maker I loved it! True to its name, wait for for the ding and your waffle is done to perfection. The only thing is, do not use a full 2 cups for your first waffle as the directions suggest. Start with 1 and 1/2 cup and adjust as needed. I used a top brand pre-mixed waffle mix and followed the directions and put 2 cups in the waffle maker and watched as it came expanding over the sides. The waffles come out done evenly and in under two minutes. This thing is terrific!!

I've had a couple other waffle makers before but this one is the best. I bought it because of the name. I already have some cookware by Calphalon so I knew it would be a good waffle maker. Cooks fast & they come out great. The only draw back is, on the front dial you can turn it to dark. But it makes the waffles way to done. But onther than that I love it.

1. Need to come with a batter cup to be able to poor the correct amount of batter.

Received this item as a wedding gift and couldnt wait to use it...although i made a rookie mistake and put too much batter in the first time so you can imagine the mess i had to clean up...the alarm is great letting you know the iron is preheated then it dings again when the waffle is done cooking. Makes a perfect waffle every time!!!!!

I purchased this waffle maker about 6 months ago and I am just now getting around to rating it as I wanted to put it to really good use. That being said, We have used this waffle maker every Sunday since its purchase with different waffle mixes and it has out performed itself each and every time. We love our "NO PEEK WAFFLE MAKER" better than any small appliance we have in our kitchen. It makes perfect waffles every time no matter what mix we use. It has been spot on each and every time we have used it. We love the fact you just turn it on it heats up and chimes when ready, pour in the batter, close the lid and in just a few minutes you have the best waffles imaginable . Having this wonderful machine has prompted me to search the internet for different waffle mixes and syrups, which have been quite an experience. We have narrowed it down to one particular mix, and syrup that we like best and so we keep a nice supply of both on hand. We also have had several brunches for friends and family and they rave about the waffles how light and airy they are. I give this machine a five star rating and would rate it higher if I could.

I didn't realize how much I enjoy waffles until I got this waffle iron for Christmas.
The waffle iron heats up fast. I can plug it in while I make the batter and its ready to go in 5 minutes. I like to cook the waffles with the iron on my kitchen table, so that they are hot right off the iron.
The non-stick is great and easy to clean. Its so hot that I can make chocolate chip waffles and the burnt chocolate easily wipes off with a damp rag.
The lock-setting feel a little flimsy, so I am careful when I am carrying it by the handle, but other than that, its a great investment. I don't think I'll ever have to purchase another waffle iron again.

I love this waffle iron. You don't have to oil the grid before making the waffles. Cleanup therefore is a breeze. The waffles turn out great. The machine lets you know when its preheated and when your waffles are done.

I'm a big fan of the round flipover waffle makers in hotels and motels. When I tried to buy one, I found a business of selling batter for use in leased machines. When I couldn't buy one of those round waffle makers, I set out to find the next best to buy. What I found was flimsy low quality not worth buying. My wife saw the Calphalon No-Peek Waffle Maker in Macy's and I bought one. I use enough fresh batter to make a 1/2 Belgian waffle. I've not been able to make exactly two quadrants. It overflows a bit. The finished product is evenly brown on the bottom, but not evenly brown on the top. I'm careful not to scratch the non-stick surfaces and persuaded that this Calphalon is about the best I can expect. I am inpressed by the timer countdown on the hotel/motel round waffle makers. The number countdown gives you a better idea of how long it will take to cook. I sure wish there were some way buy one of those flipover units.

The No Peek Waffle Maker is PERFECT! The kids thought of this idea for dad so that he could make his favorite boardwalk treat - waffles and ice cream. It heats up quickly, cooks evenly, and cleans up easily. We ALL love it!

Well, it's hard enough to find a waffle maker that makes square waffles, and then one that makes them flawlessly! I love the no peek feature, and the indicator that your waffles are ready is great. The at temperature signal is also handy. The first time I used it, I put too much batter in, and mount Vesuvius erupted! I was dreading clean up, but it was incredibly easy! Even the underside appears to be non stick. Spills came off easily and you would never know now, looking at it. So, the waffles turn out fluffy and perfect every time! My kids love them. Downside, although very minor; the at temperature signal is just a sound. It would be nice to have a green light too, or some kind of visible notification. In a noisy environment, it's easy to miss the bell. I am completely enthralled with this piece of equipment and it's spurred me on to invest in more Calphalon products. Thanks!

Not only does this waffle maker look great and is of high quality, it cooks FAST. When I have the hungry grandkids over it cooks fast enough to keep up with them. The waffles come out perfect every time. I find that a little over a cup of batter works best. Great product, thanks.

The No Peek Waffle Maker is amazing! It has a true non stick finish. The waffles lifted easily from the plates. My family likes their waffles a little on the brown side and we got a batch of uniformly brown waffles. The audible timer is brillant and completely accurate.I also found the cooking time was fairly quick. I used one and a half cups of batter per waffle and got perfect results. My only regret is that I did not find this gem sooner.

I have gone through many waffle makers and everyone of them the waffles stick to the NON-STICK surface. The Calphalon waffle maker is truly NON-STICK!!!!!!!!!!!! I pour the batter and a couple of minutes later the waffles come out with ease over and over. Nothing sticks to the surface. Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I almost bought another waffle maker, the kind you turn upside down, but when buying a frying pan in Macy's, the clerk told me that Calphalon was better than the brand I though was famous. I bought the 12"/10" combo and it is better than any other. I looked around and saw the Calphalon waffle maker and it was love at first sight. The only thing missing would be a wooden flat spoon to get the waffles lifted. No biggie. Once you find a setting you like, it makes the best waffles every time consistently. Bravo!

We had bought a cheapy waffle maker many years back and I didnt make waffles all that often because it only made two waffles and it never really got them crispy. My husband LOVES waffles and we recieved the No Peek Waffle Maker as a wedding present. It is AMAZING! Not only do we get wonderfully crispy waffles but I LOVE the dial that shows how far along in the cooking process (or warming up process) you are. We now make waffles at least once a week and I have begun experimenting with all sorts of different flavor batters. Thanks Calphalon!

I had purchased a Food Network waffle maker in September. On the third use, the plastic handle broke off. Needless to say, I was less than impressed with the quality. When searching for a "replacement" unit, I was determined to not make the same mistake again. I had looked at several different models, but kept coming back to the Calphalon brand. I have only used this item twice since I purchased it 10/23/10, but so far it has exceeded my expectations!

I have bought other items from Calphalon and always loved the quality so it was an easy choice to try the waffle maker. Once again Calphalon delivers~cost a little more but you get what you pay for! I looked at several models and love the solid feeling of this wafflemaker compared to others. I used it a few times so far and consistantly cooks even and love the no peek. Easy to use! It looks good on the countertop also! I am very happy with my purchase!

While I love waffles, I haven't gotten a waffle maker until recently because: 1) we have a small kitchen and don't have much room to store "extra" appliances and such, 2) I despised the thought of trying to clean up after making waffles... I imagined a sticky mess that would give me a headache, 3) I didn't think it would be easy to use or make consistently yummy, and pretty, waffles.
This product addressed all my concerns and I am truly amazed! The non-stick coating worked wonderfully and clean up is quite simple. This waffle maker is simple to use too, with easy settings and indicators and a great chime to alert me to when the waffles are ready- which is great for a mom with a new baby and a toddler since I feel like I can't remember anything these days, lol! I must say though that I did have to figure out which setting I preferred and adjust the recommended batter amount slightly (using just a bit less), but this wasn't bad since once I figured it out, things went smoothly afterward! Plus, while it still takes up space, I like how the storage option of putting it sideways is helpful.
I love this thing and am so excited to be able to have waffles pretty much any time I want!

I used the non-stick waffle maker to make waffles for my family. I have three young children who can be picky eaters. They loved the waffles! They came out soft and fluffy--bye-bye store bought. I make extra and freeze them for breakfast. This product requires a quick wipe down and your done. And it also looks good on the counter if I don't have time to put it away!

I used this product to make waffles from an instant mix. Overall, the waffles were easy to make. Cleanup was a cinch. One thing I would improve upon is the recommended amount of batter. I used this amount but batter kept spilling out from the sides. Another issue -possibly related - is that the waffles were a little undercooked when the alert sounded. I had to cook them a minute or so longer. It could be that instant mix has a different cooking procedure than fresh batter.

My 6 year old and I made waffles together and this maker works like a dream. My husband and I received a small round Belgian waffle maker for our wedding 8 years ago - it has worked great all these years, but the waffles are too small for our family, especially when we have guests! This waffle maker makes waffles just the right thickness (kind of half way between thin waffles and the extra thick Belgian style waffles). The waffles cook quickly and evenly, and the light/sound indicator is very easy to understand.

I think that it was fate that this waffle iron ended up at my house. I have been using a waffle iron that I got from my late grandmother. It made awful waffles, but because it came from her, I couldn't get rid of it. That was until I used the No Peek Waffle Maker. It made the best belgian waffles. I love that you can adjust the shade of the waffle by the simple switch of a dial on the outside of the maker. No need to lift the handle and possible ruin your waffles. This is a terrific waffle maker and something everyone should have in their kitchen.

I was fortunate enough to be chosen to review a Calphalon Waffle and I must admit that I thoroughly enjoyed this product. Waffles are a family favorite and it's nice to be able to make homemade waffles in a short amount time. The waffle maker is easy to use, the instructions were clear and concise and it created delicious waffles. When the instructions said that the waffle griddle surface was non-stick and didn't require any oil, they weren't kidding. The waffles I made turned out the way I wanted them to on the first try and I was able to remove from the griddle surface without any sticking or tears.

This waffle maker works great, and the recipe for multi-grain waffles included in the instruction manual was very tasty. It worked as advertised, making thick, fluffy, perfectly browned waffles. Was nice not to have to open the waffle maker to check them, or flip the waffles to get them to come out evenly. The beep of the timer isn't obnoxious or overly loud. The size is a bit large, but not huge considering it makes four waffles at once. It stands on it's end securely, and the cord coils nicely out of the way on the bottom. My husband is our master pancake and waffle chef, and he enjoys using it, too. As an added bonus, the styling of the exterior is rather nice.

So stylish you dont have to put this back in the pantry when you're done using it! Not to mention the waffles just slide right out! Cooked to perfection.

My husband and I were so excited to use our new waffle maker since our old one was getting pretty old. We were thrilled to be moving up to the Calphalon No-Peek Waffle Maker. Hubby made the first batch when I was gone, he made breakfast for the kids and loved the waffles and how easy the waffle maker was to use. I used it for the first time today. I have to admit I didn't read the directions and over cooked my first batch since I didn't wait for the initial beep. Oops. But my second attempt was much better and we had yummy waffles. I love the non-stick surface! It really releases the waffles easily with no hassle, which always seems to be the biggest difficulty with waffle makers. And you really don't have to peek (once you pay attention to the directions and listen for your "beeps"!)

Got the No Peek Waffle Maker late last week and pulled it out for our usual Sunday morning waffle making. First of all I love the "heft" to the product -- as in the top stays down nicely! Then there's the lovely Light to Dark dial on the front. We like our waffles a bit blond and the medium setting cooked our Cinnamon Banana Waffles perfectly. But the kicker....EASY release! No stuck waffles! Even with the fruit in them! Amazing! As for clean up....what clean up? A quick swipe of a kitchen cloth and clean as a whistle. Seriously love this waffle maker!

The No Peek Waffle Maker made perfect waffles. I was a little hesitant that all I had to do was choose the setting (light, dark, etc.), wait for a beep, and it would be done...well, it worked perfectly. The size of the waffles was perfect, they cooked fast, and clean up was a breeze. It truly was no stick and no peek! The lock on the side was broken, however, I'm not sure we would use the lock feature anyways.

My family enjoyed waffles on Sunday morning in a new way with the No Peek Waffle Maker. Totally loved the crisp of the waffles, and texture that just a simple pancake mix with gave - can't wait to try it with a Belgian.
I loved that it chirped when it was preheated and when the waffle was ready to be taken out. This was huge with 2 1/2 year old twins running around and trying to do this that and the other thing. My old one I had to stand and watch for a light to turn off.
Love the capacity - making 4 waffles at a time.
The only negative I had was the space to cook the waffles with the hinge at the top. I had to set mine sideways as it was hitting my cupboards. But that wasn't that big an issue -I had the space for that.

I am a newbie to the waffle making business. This made me a little nervous upon getting this waffle maker, but I braved it anyway.
Turns out, I had very little to worry about. I followed the instructions like a good little waffle gal, poured my batter in, and closed the lid.
As I waited for my waffles to cook, I'll admit, I wanted to break the "no peek" rule. When my first batch turned out a little underdone, this urge increased. However, I needn't have worried...the second batch was perfection!
The only thing that would make me love this waffle maker more is if it had plates to grill sandwiches, as well, but I know that's not the purpose. You give me an inch, I'll try to take a mile ;-). I highly recommend this excellent piece of equipment!

Disclaimer: I'm a terrible cook. I was always the girl who couldn't measure things accurately and ended up with a partially-congealed mess instead of a cheesecake, so the waffle-iron is absolved from almost all responsibility in the following scenario.
I made my waffle batter (using the easy mix of course - just add water!) and poured it in the iron, set the timer to my desired setting and let it do it's thing (easy, just like a toaster oven - I loved that part!). The only problem was that it overflowed batter everywhere. I looked at the directions (probably should've done that before I started) and realized I had poured in twice the recommended amount of batter. Whoops!
The other resulting issue was that my chosen cook setting wasn't high enough for my extra thick waffles and came out a bit doughier than I would have liked. But the waffles still tasted delicious, the process was super easy, they didn't stick when I tried to get them out of the iron, and clean up was a breeze (even all the overflowed batter just wiped right off the non-stick surface).
Moral of the story: This waffle iron is idiot-proof as long as you read the directions :)

I love this waffle maker! It is easy to use, and the fact that it is "no peek" is wonderful. My waffles came out perfectly, and I didn't have to keep lifting the lid to check if they were done. Easy to clean and fun to use. Only criticism is that it's a little bulky and the handle sticks out quite a bit, adding to its width. But, overall - I love this waffle maker!

Usually when you buy newer cooking items, your product may taste funny at first. Not with this, it taste great right away. Easy basic first cleaning through the grooves and started the warming up! It warmed up fast, it cooked fast and we ate them fast! The descriptions of how brown to cook was right on and perfect for us.
Even when we added too much mix, it was easy to clean right off. Looking forward to making waffles at least every weekend!

This is by far the best waffle maker I have ever used. Quality, makes great waffles, and the design is attractive for countertop use. Easy cleanup too!
